Whether it’s a snow day or simply too cold to go outside, cabin fever can be a real bother in the wintertime! Bored? Don’t rearrange the furniture again, get your creativity on! Adult coloring books are great, yes, but here is a list of DIY projects that will add some color and fun to your home during the dreary winter months.

- 2 yards of linen or heavyweight cotton (optional)
- 1″ white mini blinds
- permanent fabric adhesive
- foam brush
- scissors
- iron
- sewing machine (optional)
- pins (optional)
Transfer Photos onto Wood
This is great for all those family photos you took over the holidays! Spruce up the bookcase or hang them on the wall. This is really easy and requires minimal materials. A full tutorial video is available thanks to HeyKali
Charming Chalkboard
From the Smart Money Mom herself: re-purposing frames of any size is a cinch with some chalkboard paint. Check out the local flea market for some interesting designs, spray paint the frame (or leave it as is) and put a nice coat of chalkboard paint on your frame insert. Hang in your home office or kitchen to keep a running grocery list on!
Wine Corks Re-purposed
If you collect enough wine corks, you can do a wide variety of interesting crafts with them: but here’s two! One – fill a decorative glass jar or vase for a fun centrepiece. Voila! Two – glue into a picture frame for a quick and easy, but stylish, bulletin board!
